CMVP certification was implemented by the <strong>Efficiency Valuation Organization<\/strong> (EVO\u00ae), in partnership with the <strong>Association of Energy Engineers<\/strong> (AEE). The CMVP training covers all the methods used in the context of <strong>energy efficiency (EE) M&amp;V projects<\/strong> and includes, in particular, the 2012 version of <strong>the International Protocol for the Measurement and Verification of Energy Performance<\/strong> (IPMVP\u00ae).<\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What are the objectives ?<\/h2>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The purpose of the CMVP certification is to <strong>certify<\/strong> that the person has the <strong>necessary knowledge and experience<\/strong> as well as knowledge of the IPMVP protocols ( <em>International Protocol for the Measurement and Verification of Energy Performance).<\/em> This <strong>ensures the quality of measurements<\/strong> and <strong>analyzes as well as ethics<\/strong> . This certification is requested in most calls for tenders concerning <strong>energy renovations<\/strong> , <strong>CPE projects<\/strong> and <strong>commissioning<\/strong> . Service providers from energy design offices are therefore <strong>strongly impacted<\/strong> by this certification, which is even tending to <strong>become mandatory for responding to calls for tenders<\/strong> .<\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What criteria? <\/h2>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>Raise the professional standards<\/strong> of those engaged in measurement and verification.<\/li><li><strong>Improve the practice of measurement<\/strong> and <strong>verification<\/strong> by encouraging professionals to participate in a continuing professional development education program for measurement and verification professionals.<\/li><li><strong>Identify individuals with acceptable knowledge<\/strong> <strong>of measurement and verification principles and practices<\/strong> by completing certification and <strong>meeting prescribed standards of performance<\/strong> and <strong>conduct<\/strong> .<\/li><li><strong>Award special recognition to professionals who have demonstrated a high level of competence<\/strong> and <strong>ethical aptitude<\/strong> in measurement and verification.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Skills acquired:<\/h2>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Set the framework for <strong>measurement<\/strong> and <strong>verification<\/strong> operations.<\/li><li><strong>Define the<\/strong> <strong>reference situation<\/strong> for measurement &amp; verification.<\/li><li><strong>Design a measurement and verification plan<\/strong> .<\/li><li>Establish a <strong>mathematical model of energy consumption<\/strong> .<\/li><li><strong>Apply a measurement and verification plan<\/strong> .<\/li><li>Define the <strong>scope for measuring energy savings in an energy performance improvement project<\/strong> and know how to arbitrate, depending on the <strong>nature<\/strong> of the project and the <strong>volume of energy savings expected<\/strong> , between an overall measurement scope or a measurement with isolation of modifications. <\/li><li><strong>Define and complete the reference energy situation of a project<\/strong> , i.e. all the elements (energy consumption, independent variables, static factors, measurement perimeter) which characterize the organization that is the subject of the project, before implementing actions to improve energy performance.<\/li><li><strong>Determine and select according to a statistical analysis the independent variables which really influence the energy consumption of an organization<\/strong> (building, factory).<\/li><li>Establish a reference <strong>energy consumption model<\/strong> based on a <strong>statistical analysis approach<\/strong> and test the validity of the model obtained.<\/li><li><strong>Calculate the uncertainty of determining<\/strong> the energy savings generated by the selected model.<\/li><li>Establish the <strong>Measurement and Verification<\/strong> plan for a project by completing the <strong>fourteen points required by the IPMVP protocol<\/strong> .<\/li><li>Establish an <strong>energy performance monitoring report in accordance with the requirements of the IPMVP protocol<\/strong> .
